Info on Promax/BDA
Promax/BDA is the worldwide
association of entertainment marketers, promoters and designers,
representing more than 500 television stations and all major broadcast
and cable networks from the U. S. as well as more than 3,000
individual members in 70 countries. The association provides members
with education, recognition and interaction through conferences, award
competitions and publications as well as networking opportunities.
Promax/BDA members are primarily focused on the area of television but
increasingly come from the fields of the Internet, videogames and even
cell phone and other emerging technologies. These are the people
responsible for creating promotional excitement for new programs,
networks, DVDs and other forms of content. Whether creating a
30-second promo for Oprah Winfrey’s show or for “Survivor,” Promax/BDA
members are, in essence, storytellers who are charged with the
responsibility of finding and motivating audiences to watch, download
or purchase their organization’s content.
Although conferences take place throughout the year and across the
globe, the largest Promax/BDA conference occurs annually every June in
New York City and is attended by over 3,000 marketing and design
professionals.
