AEIM Names Circuit City's
Rick Vergara "Retail Marketing Partner of the Year"
Recognizing
one of the electronic game space’s top retailers, the Association of
Electronic Interactive Marketers™ (AEIM) has announced that it will
present its first-ever “Retail Marketing Partner of the Year” Award to
Rick Vergara, Merchandise Manager, Entertainment at Richmond-based
Circuit City Stores Inc. and currently Chairman for the Entertainment
Merchants Association (previously known as EMA). Vergara will accept
his honor on June 27 at the inaugural MI6 Conference & Awards (June
27-28, San Francisco).
“There are few relationships more important in the electronic game
space than the friendships and business partnerships we have with
retailers. Rick Vergara has contributed so much to the success of the
retail presence for game space products that we felt he was the
natural choice in receiving this first award of its kind,” said Jim
Chabin, President/CEO of MI6 and AEIM. “In addition, as Chairman of
EMA, Rick is a believer in industry organizations that further the
effectiveness of marketers, so we are honored with his leadership and
that he would join us in inaugurating our association.”
The Association of Electronic Interactive Marketers™ is a new
non-profit, professional trade organization designed to support the
video game industry’s marketers and related professionals in seizing
opportunities and meeting challenges ahead.

professional development seminars, educational workshops and keynote
sessions. Companies onboard include Microsoft, G4, Xbox, Activision,
